Abstract

This document is aiming at Water Management Stations and Divisions and Water Affairs Bureaus at county level. It introduces international and domestic water saving experiences, analyzes the crop water demand and agricultural water saving potential and develops locally appropriate agricultural water-saving techniques.

It should be read in conjunction with the Thematic Paper 3.1 - Water Saving in Irrigated Agriculture which provides the overall context and approach for water saving in agriculture. Advisory Note 3.1.2 - Practical Techniques for On-Farm Water Saving which introduces practical water saving knowledge and techniques for the farmers
