Assessing anti-T. cruzi candidates in vitro for sterile cidality

This research is an output from the Drugs for Neglected Diseases (DNDi) initiative

Abstract

It seems to be important for new drug candidates for Chagas disease to totally clear the T. cruzi infection (sterile cure), thus ensuring long-term beneficial effects for patients in the chronic indeterminate stage avoiding relapse. The authors have adapted an in vitro system to predict the ability of a compound to deliver sterile cure.

This research was primarily funded by the Drugs for Neglected Diseases (DNDi) initiative.
