Bioenergy for Sustainable Energy Access in Africa: Technology Country Case Study Report (incorporating Country Scoping Reports)

Highlights the main barriers and opportunities for wider adoption of anaerobic digestion, gasification and small-scale steam turbines in SSA

Abstract

The literature review, stakeholder mapping and technology value chain prioritisation led to the shortlisting of anaerobic digestion, gasification and combustion-based steam turbines as the most promising bioenergy technologies for BSEAA-supported research and innovation. This Case Study Report highlights the main barriers and opportunities for wider adoption of anaerobic digestion, gasification and small-scale steam turbines in SSA, and to identify potential research themes for Phase II.
