Biofortification: the Evidence

Abstract

This brief summarizes the latest evidence on nutrition, efficacy, and impact of biofortified crops. It is concluded that biofortification is a cost-effective and feasible means of reaching malnourished rural populations who have limited access to diverse diets, supplements and commercially fortified foods.
