Broadly based resistance to nematodes in the rice and potato crops of subsistence farmers

Abstract

This short review begins by describing the nematode pest problem in the developing world and then moves on to discuss the use of molecular mapping techniques to identify resistance genes. The utilization of transgenic varieties of rice and potato are also considered.
