Building Disaster Risk Management capacity: key principles

This briefing note summarises findings from a major research project on DRM capacity building

Abstract

How can programmes aiming to build disaster risk management (DRM) capacity improve their effectiveness? What works and why? What processes are important for ensuring an impact is made and what should the content of such programmes include? This briefing note summarises findings from a major research project on DRM capacity building, undertaken by Oxford Policy Management and the University of East Anglia on behalf of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
