Abstract

This Insight Note identifies the admission criteria of Indonesia’s flagship pre-service teacher training programme as significant predictors of teacher candidates’ success at the end of their professional education and queries whether these criteria can predict teacher performance in a real classroom setting as measured by student learning outcomes.
