Competition, innovation and poverty.
Abstract
It is argued that if we are serious about driving down levels of poverty in the developing world, then we urgently need to take a fresh look at competition. This brief looks at: competition for poverty reduction; what's so perfect about perfect competition?; Competition and change in the real world; innovation as a route out of poverty; and competition policy for development (entry, exit and acquisitions; handling monopolies; and the innovation challenge).
