Control of Foreign Fisheries Adaptive Research, Final Technical Report.
Abstract
The objective of this project is to apply the methodology and results of the analyses done in Project R4775 (Control of Foreign Fisheries, MRAG 1993) to assess the extent that they can be used in practice by governments of developing countries in forming policies for controlling foreign fishing in their Exclusive Economic Zones (EEZs), and to make modifications as necessary. This final report covers: project objectives, work carried out, summary of results, priority tasks to follow-up and the results with regard to the optimal control of foreign fishing, and selection of case studies (tuna fisheries in the Seychelles and South Pacific; and the fisheries of Namibia, British Virgin Islands, British Indian Ocean Territory and South Georgia).
