Abstract

This book explores the relationships between torture, ill-treatment and corruption. The overarching claim is that torture, ill-treatment and corruption are intimately linked in policing practices around the world.

This work was funded by grants from Dignity, as well as from the Danish Council for Social Science research and the UK Economic and Social Research Council in conjunction with UK Department for International Development in relation to the research project on ‘Documenting Torture and Ill-Treatment in Low Income Countries’.
