Cryopreservation of aquatic gametes and embryos: recent advances and applications.
Abstract
Recent work on components of fish spermatozoa cryopreservation (collection technique and gamete quality, duration of precooling storage, cryodiluents and dilution ratio, cooling methods and rates, evaluation of protocols, possible causes and nature of cryoinjury, field applications and large-scale cryopreservation of semen) and cryopreservation of aquatic eggs and embryos (bivalves and cryobiological process in fish eggs and embryos) is reviewed.
