Data Power: A computing resource for 9-13 year olds
Data Power supports learners to strengthen their data handling skills and consider how data can be used to improve lives
Abstract
Energise your computing lessons and delve into data from across the world. Data Power supports learners to strengthen their data handling skills and consider how data can be used to improve lives. Learners take on an investigative role by collecting, analysing and visualising data about the lives of children in different countries. This manual was created in partnership with Young Lives and with the support of Computing At School and the University of Oxford’s IT Services.
Young Lives is an international study of childhood poverty, following the lives of 12,000 children in 4 countries (Ethiopia, India, Peru and Vietnam) over 15 years. Young Lives is funded by the UK Department for International Development
