A retrospective analysis of Emergency Obstetric care (EmOC) data (2011 and 2012)

Abstract

Objectives

In a rural district hospital in Burundi offering Emergency Obstetric care-(EmOC), the authors assessed the:

  1. characteristics of women at risk of, or with an obstetric complication and their types

  2. number and type of obstetric surgical procedures and anaesthesia performed

  3. human resource cadres who performed surgery and anaesthesia and

  4. hospital exit outcomes
