Energy and disability
This Insight explores the extent to which the debate on energy poverty seeks to address the vulnerabilities of people with disabilities
Abstract
The universal energy access agenda has typically focused attention on the inclusion of vulnerable individuals in society, typically women, children and the elderly. Relatively little focus has been placed on the energy deficit experienced by people with disabilities.
This Energy Insight explores the extent to which the debate on energy poverty and access seeks to address the vulnerabilities of people with disabilities, given that this segment of society may suffer disproportionately from energy poverty compared to other marginalised groups.
