Energy Planning in Developing Countries - facing the challenges of equitable access, secure supply and climate change. Final Report

Abstract

This report presents the findings of a research scoping study undertaken for DFID, with the overall objective of informing the development of a future research programme on energy planning in developing countries. The work was undertaken by a consortium of 2 UK and 3 African organisations between October 2006 and March 2007. Tasks included both desk studies and collection of field data from 2 countries (Kenya and South Africa) and the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) sub-region.
