Establishing Clinical Laboratory Reference Intervals in Africa: A Cross-Sectional, Observational Study in Healthy Adults at Multiple African Research Centers

Abstract

This resource reports on a multi-center, clinical laboratory study that characterizes local laboratory reference intervals among healthy adult volunteers in Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya and Zambia. It provides hematology and clinical chemistry analytes, compared to US derived reference intervals; data by research center and gender; and methods and results for generating consensus reference intervals using US CLSI Guidelines.
