Evidence and Gap Map of Studies assessing the Effectiveness of Interventions for people with Disabilities

This evidence map summaries the availability of rigorous evidence relating to education, health, jobs and livelihoods

Abstract

This evidence gap map was commissioned to draw together what is known about ‘what works’ for people with disabilities and identify gaps in evidence (i.e. areas where this is less or no evidence). The map provides a visual summary of the availability of rigorous evidence on the effectiveness of interventions for people with disabilities for achieving outcomes relating to education, health, and jobs and livelihoods. There is also a supporting report which includes an overview of the evidence gap map methodology and findings.

To build on the evidence identified by the evidence gap map, the UK Department for International Development (DFID) commissioned 2 rapid evidence assessments to summarise the evidence in relation to education and social development and empowerment. These reviews were published ahead of the Global Disability Summit which was held in July 2018.
