Farmers' friends - recognition and conservation of natural enemies of vegetable pests

Abstract

Written for extension staff and other agricultural trainers in Zimbabwe, this richly illustrated field guide will be a major asset in recognising the most important natural enemies of vegetable pests - the farmers' friends - thereby enabling farmers to reduce pest and disease problems of vegetables. The guide includes information about the conservation and augmentation of these natural enemies through a variety of cultural practices and the selective use of pesticides. It is also available in Shona and Ndebele language versions and multi-lingual posters have been produced to complement the guide. This manual is also associated with projects R 7266 and R6764.
