Hardsetting.
Abstract
Hardsetting soils are soils that undergo structural breakdown during wetting and then set to a hard structureless mass during drying. This chapter describes the processes involved in hardsetting, the effects of hardsetting on crop growth, soil management, agricultural productivity and environmental quality, the identification and definition of hardsetting soils and the methodologies for assessing them.
