Abstract
This volume of the series \"Disability and Development Cooperation\" documents the contributions and results of the international symposium \"HIV/AIDS and Disability \", held in Koenigswinter, Germany, on 3rd - 5th December 2004. The symposium focused on the special vulnerability to HIV infection of persons with disabilities and the social consequences of the disease. The question of how society deals with AIDS as well as the possibilities for successful and comprehensive prevention were the main themes of the lectures and discussions. The contributions in this volume examine the scientific and practical as well as self-help perspectives.
