Identification of hazardous sites and the recommendation of remedial measures on selected rural roads

This is a 2nd stakeholders' workshop report. An Accident Blackspot Management System is discussed.

Abstract

The overall objective of this project is to develop an Accident Blackspot Management System for a coordinated approach to road safety on the rural road infrastructure under the control of the Department of Feeder Roads in Ghana, through the reduction of road traffic crashes.

This report covers the 2nd stakeholders’ workshop. The main objective of the workshop was to discuss the draft report and confirm the proposed Accident Blackspot Management System (ABMS) for a coordinated road safety activities on the rural road networks by the Department of Feeder Roads. Recommendations from the stakeholders have also been incorporated in this report.

This report is part of the Applied Research on Rural Roads and Transport Services through Community Access Programmes in Africa and Asia programme (AFCAP2 and AsCAP)
