Abstract

What explains differences in productivity in developing countries? Working with the State Bank of Pakistan and the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, the authors have conducted what is to date the largest survey of management practices in Punjab, Pakistan, to understand the role of management practices as an important factor in explaining variation in firm productivity.
