Abstract

This Policy Brief describes land tenure systems in the pre-colonial, colonial and post-colonial periods in Greater Gaborone, Botswana. Urban development, policies and legislation are analysed, providing the context for exploring formal and informal land delivery processes. There is an evaluation of land delivery processes, and recommendations and various options for improving land delivery processes in the study area.
