Investigation into the use of lahar as fine aggregate in hot rolled asphalt and asphaltic concrete wearing courses.

Abstract

A laboratory study was carried out to investigate the potential of lahar as a fine aggregate in hot rolled asphalt (HRA) and asphaltic concrete (AC). Marshall Design was employed to determine design bitumen contents of HRA and AC mixes. A wheel-tracking test was used to evaluate the performance of the HRA.
