Abstract

This is a Transport-Technology Research Innovation for International Development (T-TRIID) final report

The aim of the study was to understand the impact of the Kids’ Court on knowledge, attitudes and practices of drivers, children and other stakeholders. The objectives of the study were:

• To increase drivers’ awareness of the risks of reckless driving around primary schools

• To increase children’s knowledge about road safety and to empower them to address road safety issues

• To demonstrate the effectiveness of the Kids’ Court programme, thereby advocating for it to be adopted in other schools in Maputo, more widely in Mozambique, and elsewhere in Africa
