Long Term Pavement Performance Monitoring of Trial Sections in Mozambique incorporating Capacity Building of Road Research Centre Personnel

Site Visit Report no 2, 15 to 24 February 2017

Abstract

AfCAP is assisting the Mozambique National Roads Administration to evaluate existing road experimental sections constructed previously in Mozambique under several programmes, including with AfCAP support. These trial sections were designed to demonstrate and verify different options in design, material utilisation and construction methods for rural roads (particularly low-volume rural roads- LVR). To achieve the objective of influencing future policy in the road sector, it is necessary to review the outcomes of all trial sections constructed in Mozambique and to start a process of establishing new trial sections. This report addresses site visits held in February 2017.

This output is part of the Applied Research on Rural Roads and Transport Services through Community Access Programmes in Africa and Asia (AFCAP2 and AsCAP)
