Making Rights Realities. Researching Educational Access, Transitions and Equity
Abstract
This report synthesises the results of research on access to education in Africa and Asia over the last six years by a multinational consortium of leading international institutions based in Bangladesh, Ghana, India, South Africa and the United Kingdom. The research demonstrates how much progress has been made, and how far there is to travel if human rights to basic education are to be delivered to all children. It provides many insights into the political economy of educational reform. The analysis of changing patterns of inclusion and exclusion contains many lessons for policy and practice in pursuit of the internationally agreed goals of Education for All.
