ORIE Research Summary 4. Economic Evaluation of Working to Improve Nutrition in Northern Nigeria (WINNN): Preliminary Costing Results (year 1)
Abstract
The WINNN programme, a large scale programme funded by the Department for International Development (DFID) to prevent and treat undernutrition in five states in Northern Nigeria, has been running for one year. This summary aims to provide an overview of the cost of the WINNN programme to the implementing partners (Save the Children, UNICEF, and Action Against Hunger) in its initial year. It should be noted that key costs, especially those which are born by governments have not been included here but will be included in the next rounds of economic evaluation. Because this analysis only provides an overview of costs of the initial year, when many of the programmes had not yet been implemented at full capacity, it is likely that costs breakdowns between programme components may change substantially in future years when all components are fully operational.
