Participation - A Promise unfulfilled? Building Alliance between people and government: Action Research for Participatory Representation

Abstract

This paper will concentrate on the progress of the research in Malawi, specifically in relation to grass roots representations about issues of food security. A number of important research reports have been written about the causes and effects of famine in Malawi during the period covered by this paper (2000-2002), that have largely debated issues of National and International Government and Donor responses. By contrast this paper is concerned with micro-macro level representation and response.
