Pharmaceuticals Distribution Systems in India.
Abstract
This paper summarises lessons learnt from research on the distribution of pharmaceuticals in India. A broad-brush picture is provided of the different agents in the system and their organization, the different procurement pathways, and the licensing aspects of the regulatory framework. Some of the problems with over-neat descriptions are shown, and the challenges that these problems pose for the legal and regulatory framework relating to drug distribution are highlighted.
