Abstract

The goal of the PRogramme for Improving Mental health carE (PRIME) is to generate world-class research evidence on the implementation and scaling up of treatment programmes for priority mental disorders in primary and maternal health care contexts in low resource settings.

The aims of the research programme, its focus on 4 priority disorders (alcohol abuse, depression, psychosis and epilepsy), research phases and work plans are described in this brochure. It also outlines how the research can impact development, the plans for translating research into policy, partners involved in the programme, capacity building opportunities and contacts.

This brochure was updated in 2014.
