Protocol - What is the empirical evidence of the relationship between education, skills and economic growth in low-income countries?
Abstract
This is the protocol for a systematic review which aims to synthesize the empirical findings on the effect of education and skills on economic growth in low-income countries.
The proposed systematic review will consist of three sections:
a. A section that develops the theoretical/analytical framework within which the relationship between education, skills and growth is examined and informs the collection of data from empirical studies;
b. A section that synthesizes the empirical evidence on human capital-growth relationship – using meta-analysis methodology that draws on earlier work in economics;
c. An overall conclusion that maps the meta-synthesis with the theoretical/analytical framework and identifies the scope/need for further research.
This protocol provides background information and details of the methods to be used.
