Abstract

Insight into how we can achieve quality education for every girl. The piece highlights that for girls to realise the full benefits of education, they must be learning and acquiring skills while in school. To deliver learning to all girls and achieve the SDG of universal literacy and numeracy, girls must have access to systems that produce learning. The paper also highlights that the biggest gains can be made by focusing on mastering the basics in the early primary school years. It also notes that improving girl’s education requires reorienting the system to be coherent for learning, which can include targeted approaches as part of an overall shift towards coherence.
