Quality of Family Planning Services in Malawi: What can we learn by observing consultations with clients?
Abstract
Brief notes are presented on this study during which 42 family planning consultations in 30 government and non-government health facilities were observed to obtain information about the interactions between the clients and the health service providers. The findings of the study are reported in terms of the context, content and conduct of the consultations, contraceptive choice and information, clinical procedures. Some conclusions are drawn and priorities for attention are listed.
