Abstract

This booklet, divided into three parts, reviews and proposes definintions of quality of care (QoC) and quality of maternity care, discusses the concept of QoC and develops a framework for assessing the quality of maternal and perinatal care in developing countries. It also identifies areas for future research to improve the quality of maternal and perinatal care in developing countries.
