R4D & Mendeley. Extending Reach & Increasing Uptake. An exploratory study: Part One.

This study examines connections between the Research4Development (R4D) repository and Mendeley community

Abstract

In a small, exploratory study, Euforic Services has been looking at how connections could be made between DfID funded Research - or, more explicitly, the research material gathered in the R4D repository - and the community on Mendeley.

This is Part One of a two part document. This part:

  • Explains what Mendeley is, how it has developed and how it might develop in the future
  • Describes what was done in the experiments on the platform
  • Draws some conclusions and makes recommendations

A separate document, Part Two, provides a primer on how to begin using Mendeley for researchers and others working with the R4D platform.
