Redistributing the benefits from REDD+: The case of Viet Nam
Abstract
This Inside Story on Viet Nam explains how the country is developing an equitable, transparent and efficient benefit distribution system as part of its preparations for the REDD+ scheme. Through building on lessons learned from Viet Nam’s extensive experience with benefit distribution systems in the forestry sector, the country is aiming to provide local communities with a meaningful role in preparing the benefit distribution system, ensuring it safeguards social and economic benefits for them.
