Research Report. Addressing Attitudinal Constraints in the Provision of Formal Financial Services for the Poor in Madhya Pradesh, India.

Abstract

The objective of the research was to assess the attitudes and perceptions of rural bank managers in Madhya Pradesh, India towards their professional role as providers of financial services to the rural poor. It conceptualised their roles as relating to the roles of their clients and to the roles of a variety of people within their organisations who manage/and or support them. This final report outlines the project's background and objectives, methodology, findings and their dissemination, and highlights. Appendices cover the interview schedule, additional data and a conference paper. A research methods report is also attached.
