Researching the Quality of Education in Low Income Countries: Issues of theory and method

Abstract

This presentation, based on a forthcoming paper in the International Journal of Educational Development, aimed to trace the links between theory and practice in CIE research through a critical examination of three contrasting approaches to understanding the quality of education, namely the human capital, rights based and social justice approaches.
