Results and Trends in Women’s Empowerment on the Chars

The Chars Livelihoods Programme (CLP) aims to increase women’s empowerment

Abstract

One of the main objectives of the Chars Livelihoods Programme (CLP) was to increase women’s empowerment, both for its core participants (CPs) and for women in the wider community. All 78,026 CLP core participants were female; however, many Programme interventions directly and indirectly benefitted the CP’s entire household as well as the community at large. With the CLP due to end in March 2016, this report gives the results of surveys on women’s empowerment, and suggests that CLP met and exceeded its logframe empowerment target.
