Review of the World Bank progress report for the water resources sector strategy

Final Report from May 2010

Abstract

This DEWPoint review reflects on the World Bank Group Mid-Cycle Implementation Progress Report for the Water Resources Sector Strategy. Brief comments are made by DFID on the results framework, analysis by income group, distribution of lending by water poverty, sanitation, high reward/high risk hydraulic infrastructure projects, private sector participation, cost recovery, country water resources assistance strategies, climate change, assistance in agriculture, hydropower – river basin planning and water use management, institutional and corporate issues, and performance to date.

This report was produced by DEW Point, a Resource Centre for Environment, Water and Sanitation, that was funded by DFID and managed by a consortium of companies led by Harewelle International Limited. The Resource Centre closed in 2012.
