Abstract

This working paper outlines mixed methods research on residents’ experiences and perceptions of insecurity in 6 African cities (Nairobi, Bukavu, Freetown, Mogadishu, Lagos and Maiduguri). It addresses broad questions regarding the meanings and experiences of, and response to, safety and in/security held by different urban residents; and about the range of actors and institutions involved in the production of in/security.

This output is part of the African Cities Research Consortium (ACRC) programme.
