Abstract

This paper aims to enrich the literature on improving teacher screening in developing countries by testing 62 teachers in Indonesia and by using a set of teacher assessment instruments that measure both cognitive and non-cognitive skills and that can help government and education institutions to strengthen their teacher recruitment mechanisms.
