Abstract

This slideshow consists of 12 photographs with captions (and a final slide listing the organizations involved). They illustrate (by focusing on a particular individual) the problems of young people in South Africa who have lost one or both parents to AIDS, and the work of a prpgramme called 'Siyakha Nentsha', isiZulu (Zulu) for “building with young people.” Siyakha Nentsha goes beyond traditional HIV prevention programs to build the knowledge and practical skills that young people in a heavily HIV and AIDS-affected area need to succeed as adults.
