Socio-Emotional and Academic Learning Before and After COVID-19 School Closures

Evidence from Ethiopia

Abstract

This paper presents the findings of the research undertaken in Ethiopia to examine the effects of COVID-19 school closures on children’s holistic learning, by including both socio-emotional and academic learning and by comparing primary pupils’ learning in 2019 and 2021.

This research is part of the Research on Improving Systems of Education programme.
