Some lessons learnt from the RIU Best Bets process

Abstract

RIU’s Best Bets programme aims to put existing agricultural research into use through partnerships in which the private sector plays a significant role. Two calls for Best Bets were aimed at different regions in Africa. This report aims first to analyse the characteristics of the proposals submitted under the two calls and then to suggest possible reasons for any differences observed and identify possible steps to overcome any constraints and weaknesses in the Best Bets process.
