Spilling Blood Over Water? The case of Ethiopia.

Abstract

It is vital that the role of water in conflict be thoroughly assessed to inform the design of conflict prevention strategies. This chapter focuses on two important water basins in Ethiopia – the Awash Valley and Nile River basins. Both basins are at the centre of water development in the country and therefore are important axes of competition and conflict.
