Sustainable Management of Trees, Reduction in Forest Degradation, and Job Creation for the Poor

Brief background note describing possible future and current scenarios of sustainable land and forest management

Abstract

Brief background note describing possible future and current scenarios of sustainable land and forest management. The note focusses the interactions involved in reducing deforestation and job creation for the poor, where future management practices are concerned. For example, the way in which better land and forest management, and associated creation of jobs, can sometimes lead to a green outcome for growth strategies which are not intentionally driven by a green agenda.
