Synthesis of Reports of National Consultative Workshops In Africa.
Abstract
In November 2005 EdQual convened four national consultative workshops in the African partner countries. Attendees included the institutional research team and invited colleagues, as well as key national stakeholders and policymakers. Their objective was to develop an understanding of key national priorities for each partner country, in terms of education quality, based on informed dialogue between policymakers, researchers and key stakeholders. The workshops enabled and established working relationships with key stakeholders, while raising awareness of the EdQual RPC research amongst policy makers. As part of this, they also sought to establish National Reference Groups involving key figures in national education programmes and national education policy authorities; this has been achieved in most partner countries. This document reports on the workshops in each country (Ghana, South Africa, Rwanda and Tanzania).
