Abstract

Agro-chemical pollution in Jamaica is largely non-point source in nature, hence it is very difficult to measure and research. Pesticide contamination has been detected in river and estuarine shrimp and is believed to potentially have a significant impact on the reproductive health of fish. Little or no studies in Jamaica have been conducted on the bioaccumulation of pesticides in the food chain.
